It’s been over a year since we’ve posted a new song — 2016 was jam-packed for us. Rebecca lived up in the mountains during the winter, then we moved into a new place together in April. Chris worked in Paris the second half of 2016, so we haven’t had much time at home.
Musically, our 2016 highlights were:
– Chris’s dream-come-true, Bucket List trip to New Orleans in November, when we met and studied with local Steinway artist and Loyola piano Professor Matt Lemmler (photo at right)
– playing at a dear friend’s 1969 Summer of Love themed party – in costume, of course (left),
– playing Zürich’s highest-grossing philanthropic event, Room to Read‘s Annual Gala at the Dolder Grand Hotel for the 4th year running, this time with a hand-written thank you from the organization’s founder John Wood,
– living in this lovely shared home of ours between a lake and forest, just 15 minutes from the heart of Zürich. Today we finally went into the spare room to set up the recording equipment. Nevermind that I have a head and chest cold and can barely breathe; nevermind that we’d never played this song before; nevermind that we couldn’t see each other and are off on the timing: We are grateful and happy every day to have lives filled with song, and to have found each other. May you feel that way each and every day, too. We hope you enjoy! (and check out our special studio guest. She decided the couch in the spare room was just right for her.)
